The State Single Treasury Service was established by Law No. 35 of March 3, 1993 and represents one of the main operational services rendered by Central Bank to the Public Administration.

Since 1993, the Treasury Service has been carried out by a special Organizational Unit of the Central Bank and offered to the State and the following Public Entities:

  • Social Security Institute;

  • State Autonomous Companies for Public Services;

  • State Autonomous Companies for Public Works;

  • Sammarinese National Olympic Committee;

  • University for Studies;

  • State Games Authority;

  • Civil Aviation and Maritime Navigation Authority;

  • Poste S.p.A..

The Treasury Service includes the activities of revenue collection and execution of payments ordered by the Public Entities of the Republic of San Marino, thus implementing the following regulatory provisions:

The collection of revenue accruing to the Public Administration may take place in different ways in order to facilitate the taxpayer at the payment stage.
By virtue of a special Convention stipulated between the Central Bank and San Marino Banks, it is possible to go to any bank counter in the Republic to pay the payment notices sent by the Public Offices related to public utilities, taxes, fees, penalties, etc.
It is also possible to make payments to the Public Administration at the Post Offices of San Marino, the cash desks present in the Public Offices' offices, and from foreign bank counters by bank transfer. In order to facilitate the taxpayer to pay through this instrument, it is invited to contact the Treasury Department at the references indicated above.
