On September 3-4, a joint conference hosted by the European Central Bank (ECB) and the European Banking Authority (EBA) was held in Frankfurt under the theme "Addressing supervisory challenges through enhanced cooperation" (*).
The event, attended by over 150 representatives from European institutions, EU member state supervisory authorities, and authorities from other countries, aimed to "Explore the many dimensions of supervisory cooperation and the current challenges for which it is necessary, across borders and sectors."
Over the course of two days, various panels were held, focusing on discussions and exchanges of views and experiences among the attending supervisory authorities. The conference also covered the positions of key authorities (primarily the ECB and EBA, with input from ESMA and EIOPA, completing the framework of European supervisory bodies) on the most important issues in the current context.
A CBSM delegation, consisting of the General Director and the Head of International Relations, attended the conference to deepen their understanding of the latest trends in European supervision. The event also provided an opportunity to strengthen CBSM’s ties with European institutions and supervisory authorities, aligning with the Central Bank's efforts to enhance international relations in anticipation of San Marino’s financial system integration into the European framework, following the formalization of the Association Agreement between San Marino and the European Union
