Financial Education: Central Bank of San Marino holds Climate Change Seminars at Universities

On 6 and 25 March, the Head of International Relations of the CBSM held two seminars at the University of Bologna and the University of Milan respectively, to present the role of central banks and supervisory authorities in addressing climate change.

The presentations introduced the features of the San Marino financial system, Central Bank, and the country’s path toward European integration. They then shifted focus to the functions and objectives of the Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS), an association of 144 central banks and supervisory authorities, including the CBSM, whose aim is to share best practices for managing climate change-related risks and mobilize resources to support the transition to a sustainable economy.

These seminars, along with similar initiatives involving Central Bank representatives, are part of the CBSM’s institutional communication strategy aimed at promoting greater awareness around its role and responsibilities, the features of the banking and financial sector, as well as the growing European integration of the Republic of San Marino. This commitment, aligned with the highest standards of transparency and accountability, is also designed to tangibly contribute to increasing the understanding of the potential impacts of climate change, in line with the objectives of the NGFS and the CBSM itself.
