Central Bank attends informal hearing at the Chamber of Deputies concerning San Marino's association Agreement with the European Union

On May 21, an informal hearing was held at the Chamber of Deputies, and in particular at the XIV Permanent Commission "European Union Policies", of the Secretary of State for Finance, Hon. Marco Gatti, of the Ambassador of San Marino in Italy, H.E. Daniela Rotondaro, and of the top management of the Central Bank represented by the President, Ms. Catia Tomasetti, the General Manager, Dr. Andrea Vivoli, and the Director of the Financial Information Agency, Dr. Nicola Muccioli.

During the hearing, having as its subject the Association Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of San Marino, President Tomasetti illustrated the role, functions and organization of the Central Bank, relevant also in the framework prefigured by the Agreement, while Director General Vivoli presented the activities underway to address the challenge represented by the integration not only of financial systems but also of supervisory structures and rules. In the latter regard, both the path of strengthening BCSM and the benefits deriving from the Agreement were recalled, overcoming the limitations and constraints that today circumscribe the development of the San Marino banking and financial sector.

The meeting in question represented an important opportunity for fruitful dialogue and collaboration with Italian institutional representatives.
