Agreement on Financial Cooperation

The agreement between the Government of the Republic of San Marino and the Government of the Italian Republic on financial cooperation, was signed in San Marino on 26 November 2009 and entered into force on January 26 th , 2015.

The new agreement replaces the Convention dated 2 May 1991 between the Republic of San Marino and the Italian Republic on financial and currency relations, as well as those of the subsequent additional act of 1994.

The new agreement strengthen the cooperation on financial issues between the two countries, particularly with reference to the supervision on the banking, financial and insurance sectors, by establishing the forms of cooperation between the competent authorities.

Besides strengthening and reiterating the principles of the agreement on economic cooperation as regards to the development of the financial system of San Marino, this understanding provides, inter alia, for the commitment of the Republic of San Marino to adopt the main points of the Community regulation on finance.
