On April 18, 2024, a meeting was held in Washington between CBSM and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) with the aim of strengthening relations between the two authorities. Specifically, the discussions focused on opportunities for multilateral and bilateral collaboration to identify strategic areas of alignment and knowledge sharing, particularly through technical assistance programs.
One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the identification of concrete strategies to enhance information exchange mechanisms. These improvements will enable CBSM to strengthen its supervisory tools, facilitating more effective oversight of foreign investors interested in accessing the financial system of the Republic of San Marino.
Both parties expressed optimism regarding future collaboration prospects and committed to defining a stable framework for cooperation in the coming weeks.
